The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies final trailer has been released featuring our first look at Peter Jackson’s final Hobbit film’s epic battle.
The final Hobbit film is just over a month away, and director Peter Jackson has now released the final trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Watch some of the most exciting footage we’ve seen yet from The Hobbit trilogy, and get ready to see Bilbo and his dwarven company battling Smaug and rumbling in the final epic fight, in the video player above!
“Thorin. You gave a promise. You brought upon them only ruin and death. You won the mountain. Is that not enough?” Bilbo asks.
“Now, we defend it,” he replies.
Today’s trailer is pretty emotional. Our favorite moment may be at the end when Gandalf asks, “How do you want this day to end?”
The Hobbit trilogy will come to a close on December 17, and while fans have been split on the trilogy’s adaptation so far, we have to say that the footage we’ve seen from the final film looks very promising. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies was always likely to be the most exciting film, and of course will be leading us up to the beginning of the incredibly well received The Fellowship of the Ring.
Director Peter Jackson and his team have done an excellent job keeping fans involved during these last few years, and it’s somewhat bittersweet that this will most likely be the final film involving Jackson and J.R.R. Tolkien’s works. That is, unless Jackson decides he wants to take on the unfilmable Silmarillion.
We look forward to seeing the aftermath of Smaug’s Laketown attack, and more importantly the Battle of the Five Armies, which refers to the fight between the Goblins and the Wargs against the Men of Dale, the Elves, the Dwarves, the Eagles and a Shape-shifter. Jackson recently stated that while the film’s battle will be 45-minutes long, fans shouldn’t expect to feel any battle fatigue.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be released in theaters worldwide on December 17, 2014.
