Hulu has just given us our first look at The Handmaid’s Tale season 2, and it’s safe to say we’re in for another intense season!
Hulu’s award-winning drama The Handmaid’s tale won’t be airing new episodes until later this spring, but luckily for fans who just can’t wait, the online streaming platform gave us our very first look at season 2.
The website revealed three brand new stills from the series’ second season on Friday (January 12) — including a striking image of a bloodied up Offred (Elisabeth Moss).

In a press release revealing our first look at the new season, Hulu teased that season 2 is set to focus on Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the horrors of Gilead.
“‘Gilead is within you’ is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia,” writes Hulu. “In season two, Offred and all our characters will fight against — or succumb to — this dark truth.”
Offered isn’t the only character set to take center stage in the second season.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Showrunner Bruce Miller revealed that this new season is also set to give us a glimpse into the lives of the refugees who have managed to escape Gilead. It’ll also give us a look at what happened to those who’ve been exiled to the Colonies.
After spending so much time in Gilead, it’ll be interesting to see what’s been happening outside the confines of the dystopian city that Offred found herself trapped in during the first season.
Season 2 of The Handmaid’s Tale is set to premiere on Hulu sometime in April.
