A deleted scene from tonight’s episode of The Flash, “Grodd Lives,” reveals the answer to a series-long mystery.
Ever since the team started locking up metahumans in the pipeline at S.T.A.R. Labs, fans have wondered how exactly the needs of the metahumans are being met. A scene that was filmed for “Grodd Lives” but cut for time reveals just how the metahumans are being fed. (You know you’ve been wondering.)
Watch the scene below:
As we see in the clip, the metahumans apparently get get to choose what they want each day. And, being the thoughtful jailers that they are, the S.T.A.R. Labs team even takes note of dietary preferences.
If you’re looking for more about the metahumans imprisoned in S.T.A.R. Labs, the official Flash Tumblr is also running a series titled “The Chronicles of Cisco” that documents Cisco’s work with the metahumans, including various references to downtime with the metahumans.
The official synopsis for tonight’s episode, “Grodd Lives,” reads:
“GRODD RETURNS! — Barry (Grant Gustin) must deal with the Reverse Flash’s (Tom Cavanagh) latest threat to a member of the group. To make matter worse, Dr. Wells unleashes Grodd on the city in order to distract Barry and the team. Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) head down into the sewers to catch Grodd but the gorilla quickly gets the upper hand after he kidnaps Joe. Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry have a heart to heart talk. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & Kai Yu Wu (#121).”
