In another interview with Teen Wolf executive producer Jeff Davis and star Tyler Posey, the duo talk about how much they love their fans, feeling responsible to stay socially conscious, and the possibility of future projects.
ScreenInvasion interviewed the pair, asking Posey about the fact that Teen Wolf seems to have completely changed his life. He said that it had and that he probably wouldn’t be able to walk the Comic-Con floor without getting stalked, but “I love it,” he says. “I embrace everything that has come my way and I love interacting with fans.”
Teen Wolf is known as a TV show that stays socially conscious, but doesn’t get preachy. So many issues that stay at the forefront of other shows, such as Glee, are a complete non-issue in this world. Davis states that he feels his first responsibility is to tell a great story. “If we can remain socially conscience, that’s great too,” he says. “It’s a balancing act because you don’t want to get into a situation where you’re suddenly preaching, and I don’t want Teen Wolf to become a show that’s constantly hammering the audience over the head with its message.”
When asked about future projects, Davis says that he’s content to keep working on Teen Wolf without adding another item to his plate. “Teen Wolf is very much my world for now. Especially since I do so much of the writing,” he said. “If it were a procedural maybe I’d be more inclined to develop another show… Right now I’m just focused on making sure Teen Wolf is still A+ entertainment to its viewers.”
He also mentioned his previous work on the show Criminal Minds, stating that he doubts he’ll ever go back to broadcast network TV. “The freedom in cable is huge,” he says. He continues by saying MTV has, “turned into partners on the show. It’s hard to do that in network TV where you feel like they just go for a hard line drive down the middle.”
Posey feels much the same way, stating, “If something I really, really like comes my way I’ll try really hard for it. Otherwise, eh.”
