We were big fans of Seth MacFarlane’s very first film Ted when it was released earlier this year. Today Universal announced a DVD/Blu-ray release date.
The film hits store shelves December 11. “It is also the day I can officially move in with you,” Ted wrote on his official Facebook page, “so start stocking up on cheap booze and cheaper women because I may never leave. And don’t forget to Scotchgard the couch. You’ll thank me for it.”
As you can see from the above box art, Ted on DVD/Blu-ray is unrated. Special features include a behind-the-scenes look at Ted and John’s big fight in the film, a commentary with MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, and writer Alec Sulkin, and a documentary on the making of the film.
At the beginning of the month we had learned that Seth MacFarlane, who’s also the creator of animated comedies Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show, will be hosting the 2013 Academy Awards. “It’s truly an overwhelming privilege to be asked to host the Oscars,” he said of the news. “My thoughts upon hearing the news were, one, I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards set forth by my predecessors; and two, I hope they don’t find out I hosted the Charlie Sheen Roast.”
Ted is a film we see a lot of replay value in, so we can’t wait to get it in December!
