First ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ teaser trailer is super creepy

The first teaser trailer for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was just released and proves this is definitely a new, creepy era of Sabrina.

We always knew that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina would have a totally different feel from the lighthearted ’90s show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. However, after checking out the first trailer for the show, this feels like a whole new Sabrina.

Netflix dropped the creepy trailer with a super spooky version of “Happy Birthday” playing in the background, and though it definitely gives us more questions than answers, we’re dying for this show to release. Sabrina Spellman is turning 16, but for this young witch, her birthday festivities seem to be much different from your traditional sweet 16. Take a look at the trailer to see for yourself.

For those who are unfamiliar with this version of Sabrina from the comic books, Netflix explains that this show will be “a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft.” This series will follow Sabrina as she works to come to terms with her dual nature as a young woman who is half-witch and half-mortal. All the while she will have to stand up against the forces of evil threatening to overtake her family and the entire world at large.

This take on the world of Sabrina looks like it will be incredibly spooky, and will feel like a wholly new, fresh take on the character. Whether you grew up watching the Melissa Joan Hart series or this is your first introduction to Sabrina and her magical family, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a show that you just can’t miss.

We’re all invited to Sabrina’s spooky sweet 16, so be sure to mark your calendars. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina hits Netflix just in time for Halloween, on October 26.
