Taylor Swift fans can now get a taste of what her re-recorded version of “Love Story” sounds like thanks to none other than Ryan Reynolds!
Between a surprise album drop, six Grammy nominations, and a brand new concert film on Disney+ it’s safe to say that Taylor Swift fans have tons to be excited about in 2020. But perhaps the one thing Swifties are the most hyped about is the fact that Swift is currently hard at work re-recording her old music through her fifth studio album.
Now, Swifties can finally get a taste for what Taylor’s new, re-recorded version of “Love Story” sounds like, and the tease of the track comes to us in a rather unconventional vehicle.
The new re-recorded version of “Love Story” kicks off during the bridge of the song and is actually featured in a brand new ad for the dating site, Match.com.
The tongue-in-cheek ad pokes fun at the disastrous year that was 2020 and features a budding love story between Satan himself and the human embodiment of the hellish year we’ve had. It was produced by Ryan Reynold’s Maximum Effort production, and, as Taylor Swift later revealed, it was Reynolds who was integral in getting the new version of “Love Story” cleared for the ad.
“Okay so while my new re-records are NOT done, my friend @VancityReynolds asked me if he could use a snippet of one for a LOLsome commercial he wrote so…here’s a sneak peek of Love Story!” Tweeted Swift after the ad officially made its way onto the internet. “Working hard to get the music to you soon!”
