Lionsgate wants you to believe that Divergent is the next Twilight and Hunger Games. In a conference call this morning, the studio spent some time assuring investors that their runaway book-to-film success won’t end with Katniss’ story because they have Divergent on the horizon.
Summit Entertainment is moving steadily forward with their book-to-film adaptation of Divergent, the first young adult book in the trilogy by Veronica Roth. They are narrowing in a director to helm the project.
Lionsgate has pushed back the release of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Ezra Miller. It will now open a week later in limited release on September 21.
