Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Laini Taylor opens up about the Daughter of Smoke and Bone movie, her advice for new writers, and what Hogwarts houses her characters would be sorted into.

Universal Studios has picked the producer of Snow White and the Huntsman and Alice in Wonderland to play the same role in adapting Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone to the big screen.

Last week we reported on Daughter of Smoke and Bone being looked at by Paramount in a large six figure deal; however, today it was announced that it has been picked up by Universal.

Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone is the talk of the town in Hollywood.  Paramount is looking to purchase the book and at at least two other studios are interested.

The Guardian recently asked readers to post their favorite literary destinations. Several readers sent in photos of places where authors lived or novels took place. The collection ranges from the setting of a Virginia Woolf novel to the walk John Keats took in his ode To Autumn.

This past week Laini Taylor was in Wellesley, MA for her Daughter of Smoke and Bone tour.  With her bright pink hair she doesn’t look like your typical YA author which is good, because her writing is anything but typical.
