As Supernatural season 9 approaches, The CW has released a number of new promotional shots.

Over the last few weeks, The CW has been releasing new behind-the-scenes promotional shots of Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and Mark Sheppard across various social media sites. Check out the gallery below for the full collection.

With the last few seasons having recycled promotional shots, we’re excited to see a new batch for the veteran drama’s ninth season. Padalecki, Ackles, and Collins sure look like they’re having a lot of fun during the shoot.

But what sticks out most to us is that Mark Sheppard (Crowley) got his own promotional shot, though Padalecki, Ackles, and Collins are the only official series regulars.

Crowley has played an increasingly larger role since his introduction in season 5, so we hope this means we’ll be seeing a lot more of the king of Hell in season 9, though Sheppard also booked a substantial role in White Collar‘s fifth season.

At the end of season 8, Crowley was the Winchesters’ captive as Sam attempted to cure him to complete the third trial to seal the gates of Hell permanently.

We know from a Comic-Con sneak peek that Crowley will remain their prisoner for the foreseeable future, leaving a void in the leadership of Hell — one that Abaddon seems primed to take over. But she will not be the brothers’ only adversary, as the angels expelled from Heaven will be angry.

Supernatural season 9 premieres Tuesday, October 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
