The second Suicide Squad trailer is just as exciting as the first, as we see the worst superheroes ever team up to fight crime for the corrupt.
The new Suicide Squad trailer gives fans a look at each of the characters, with Harley Quinn being featured heavily, and then Jared Leto’s the Joker being revealed near the end. It’s all presented beside Queen’s iconic song “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Watch the second trailer below!
In the new trailer we get a glimpse of all the gang, with a few details about each of the “worst heroes ever.” There’s a lot of fire, and we see Harley Quinn will be a major player in the film, who is portrayed by Margot Robbie.
The Joker shows up in brief glimpses, and doesn’t seem to be with the main team most of the time, so we’re still curious how involved he’ll be. A recent interview revealed that he may be built up a bit during the beginning of the film and brought center stage for the third act.
The studio also released a new poster for Suicide Squad, giving us a new look at all the characters in the supervillain crew. We see The Joker at the top though, away from the regular gang, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s central to the story at first.
Suicide Squad is being helmed by David Ayer, who recently said “The commitment to the [Joker] role, you’re going to see that really shine through in a way that you’re not used to seeing actors in movies really go all the way with (in) every little moment and every little breath…You’re going to get taken on a journey with Jared that I don’t know that everyone’s ready for.”
We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under David Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.
Suicide Squad will hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
Suicide Squad’s official synopsis reads, “A government agency recruits some of the deadliest villains in DC Comics lore to embark on dangerous missions. This film will be a continuation of WB’s shared DC cinematic universe.”
