With a 12A certificate and a 152-minute runtime, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is officially the longest film in the franchise.
Rian Johnson’s Star Wars movie will be (a little bit) supersized compared to previous instalments.
A few weeks ahead of its international release, the British Board of Film Classification has certified the film 12A, and confirmed a runtime of 151 minutes and 38 seconds.

That is a whooping 17 minutes more than The Force Awakens (according to the BBFC-listed runtime), and beats the previous record-holder, Attack of the Clones, by about 10 minutes.
At over two and a half hours, The Last Jedi is practically an all-night feature; for comparison, the theatrical cut of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was 178 minutes.
And I say bring it on! The more Star Wars the better. And there is plenty to look forward to in this penultimate instalment of the third trilogy, with Rey (Daisy Ridley) struggling with her apparently immense power and seemingly tempted to join Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) on the dark side.
Meanwhile Leia (the late Carrie Fisher), Poe (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega) and newcomer Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) fight for the resistance.
And Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill)? Well, he is busy being the Last Jedi…
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
