Kylo Ren is reportedly the main villain in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the character has received a new cover featuring him and his lightsaber.
While we don’t know if Kylo Ren will end up being the most evil villain in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Where’s Luke been?), we do know that his character looks great in these new images.
The first image is a cover for Total Film magazine, with the villain’s lightsaber obscuring his face, similar to the images we saw in the other character posters recently. Check out the other image which shows Kylo Ren with a couple of groupies walking with him.
We included the third image from Empire’s cover which we’ve seen before, as it’s one of the best shots of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ villain, and it’s nice to see all three great shots together. We think our favorite is Kylo with his two minions behind him, as it shows he’ll be leading a massive army in the upcoming film.
Disney has done an excellent job promoting the villain without destroying the mystery surrounding him. We’ve seen him in many trailers, even without his helmet, but we don’t know his backstory and it feels like for once we could get surprised by a villain’s storyline in a tentpole film of this size.
The upcoming film has reportedly sold $50 million in pre-sale tickets worldwide, which is remarkable to say the least. It could end up being one of the biggest opening weekends of all time, and while it would take a miracle to break into the top two biggest box office spots (Titanic and Avatar), this film will certainly give every other film near the top a run for its money.
Expect to see loads of promotion for the upcoming film, as Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit theaters soon on December 18, 2015.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast includes new Star Wars members John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Chong, Crystal Clarke, and Pip Andersen. Actors returning to the franchise include Harrison Ford, Fisher, Hamill, Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
