Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega did what any rational person would do after winning a BAFTA: went home and showed it to his cat.
Unfortunately, said cat was not impressed with Boyega’s accomplishments. Maybe it’s a Sith?
This past weekend, John Boyega won a much-deserved BAFTA “Rising Star” Award for his role as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
In his acceptance speech, Boyega called his win a “fluke,” pointing out the category’s other great nominees Dakota Johnson, Brie Larson, Bel Powley and Taron Egerton.
While we don’t agree with that assessment, clearly Boyega’s cat Logan does. Check out this adorable Instagram video of Oluwalogan reacting to the great news:
Oluwalogan (or “Logan”) did give in eventually, offering Boyega one rather loaded “meow.” Cats are not easily impressed.
Meanwhile, John Boyega is back shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII. Production began last week in London, and an epic teaser trailer showed off Luke Skywalker and Rey in what appears to be a continuation of The Force Awakens‘ cliffhanger (…get it? ‘Cause, cliff? Never mind).
Boyega is training hard for the movie, and clearly has as much skill with a jumprope as he does with a lightsaber:
In the video, by the way, you might notice Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) shouting encouragement in the background.
On whether a Finn/Poe romance could be in the cards in Episode VIII, Boyega has told Radio Times, “As far as I’m concerned when JJ [Abrams] sat us down to go through the script, it was a bromance. But now I’m learning what Mark Hamill said before when he didn’t know that Darth Vader was Luke’s father: you never know what they’re going to pull.”
“I’m looking at the director Rian [Johnson] closely so he can get me involved early, so I can prepare myself. So who knows?”
Well… that’s not a no!
Star Wars: Episode VIII has recently added Laura Dern, Benicio del Toro, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran. It hits cinemas in December, 2017.
