There could be another Star Trek spinoff on the horizon. Michelle Yeoh is allegedly in talks to captain her own series on CBS’ streaming service.
Yeoh played Captain Philippa Georgiou — and later, Emperor Georgiou — in the first season of CBS All Access’ Star Trek Discovery. Both iterations of Yeoh’s character were an immediate hit with Discovery’s audience, so news of a spinoff should come as no surprise.
According to Deadline, the Georgiou stand-alone series is still in the early planning stages, and is likely to be a continuation of her upcoming Discovery season 2 storyline. Georgiou is set to be involved with Starfleet’s Section 31 division, an autonomous and secret organization with the aim of protecting the security interests of the United Federation of Planets.
Section 31 first appeared in Deep Space Nine, but has “exisisted” in the Trek-universe as far back as the days of Enterprise. In a bonus scene released by CBS following Discovery season 1, it was confirmed that Georgiou would be involved with the organization moving forward.

Should the Michelle Yeoh-led Georgiou series move forward at CBS, it would join the already announced Jean-Luc Picard spinoff, as well as the recently announced half-hour adult animated comedy series Star Trek: Below Decks, and the currently airing Star Trek: Short Treks.
