Harry Potter fans can never resist another chance at being sorted into a Hogwarts House, no matter how many times they’ve taken the Pottermore quiz or let themselves decide their fate.
And now fans have another chance at being sorted. A Twitter account called The Sorting Hat Bot will sort you into a Hogwarts House – complete with an original rhyme – after you follow the account.
The man who made the account is named Darius Kazemi, and he spoke to The Next Web about creating the bot. Darius says the goal was to make the Sorting Hat sound like the one appearing in J.K. Rowling’s book series, offering you a rhyme as it sorts you.
The Sorting Hat picks a house for you at random, and Darius says that decision was by design. “It was important to me to make the actual house assignment random, because I think beautiful interactions happen when people encounter the random – it’s impossible to ‘game’ a purely random draw, and I think that adding chaos and serendipity into people’s lives is a worthwhile goal,” he told The Next Web.
You can follow the account on Twitter by clicking here. You won’t get your Hogwarts House immediately (it took nearly a day and a half for me to receive my sorting, and with its popularity growing it’s only going to take longer), but as soon as you follow you’ll join the queue. Here’s the response I received from the bot. I’m happy to tell you I was sorted into Gryffindor, just as Pottermore told me.

Now, how do we get J.K. Rowling to follow this bot?
