Freeform’s upcoming Pretty Little Liars spinoff has just added a huge Disney Channel star to their cast!
Deadline reports that The Descendants actress Sofia Carson has officially scored a role in Freeform’s upcoming Pretty Little Liars spinoff, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.
Like Pretty Little Liars, The Perfectionists is based off a series of novels of the same name written by PLL author Sara Shepard.
Per TV Line, the pilot’s official description is as follows:
“Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.”
Murders, secrets, and lies? Sounds a little familiar if you ask us! But we’re sure if you’ve been missing PLL, The Perfectionists will be right up your alley!
The new drama, which comes from PLL writer and executive producer I. Marlene King, is also set to reunite two cast members from the original series.
Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish have officially signed on to reprise their roles of Ali DeLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal, respectively.
Meanwhile, Carson will play Ava, a character who’s described as a “trendsetting blogger and coder.” Her dream is to one day be a fashion icon.
Fans of Freeform’s original programming should expect to be seeing a lot of the Disney Channel star beginning this spring.
On top of her new role in The Perfectionists, Carson will also be appearing in King’s other Freeform series, Famous in Love.
Carson will play the daughter of a movie mogul named Sloan who crosses paths with Paige (Bella Thorne) and her friends in the series’ second season.
