‘Smash’ season 2 premiere just finished airing! What did you think?

After a nine-month hiatus, our Broadway baby, Smash, is born again. 2×01 “On Broadway” and 2×02 “The Fallout” offered a lot of new spills that fans are sure to be excited about!

NBC’s Golden Globe-nominated musical drama returned to television with a two-hour season premiere that introduced new characters to a talented cast.

What did you think of Jennifer Hudson’s Ronnie Moore, Jimmy (Jeremy Jordan), Kyle (Andy Mientus) and Ana (Krysta Rodriguez)? How about Jordan’s killer vocals in “Broadway, Here I Come”? What will happen to Bombshell?

Other things of note in the episode were of Ivy’s (Megan Hilty) surprise performance at the gala, and Karen’s (Katharine McPhee) singing of Jimmy’s original song from Hit List. Which song did you think the songwriters for Smash did better with?

The role of Marilyn seems to be now up in the air, as Ivy was able to get to the gala in time, while Karen’s phone was completely off. Was this just an easy way to write Karen off for drama’s purposes, or did Ivy deserve this second chance?

Watch the preview for 2×03 “The Dramaturg” and the rest of the season below.

Karen is much colder to Ivy this season, and even went as far as telling Derek (Jack Davenport) to take her out of the show. Was Karen justified, after Ivy slept with her boyfriend and treated her horribly from the beginning?

Finally, Julia’s (Debra Messing) husband Frank was still present in this episode, regardless of him being demoted to a series guest star from a regular. Have we seen all of the importance he’s going to have this season? And what do you think we’ll see of her son Leo?

Smash will return for 2×03 “The Dramaturg” in two weeks time on Feb. 19 at 9 p.m. EST. Until then, checkout stills from the upcoming episode, which will include JHud and Daniel Sunjata.
