Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse is getting the Netflix treatment, from the guys behind Stranger Things and Bird Box.

Shadow and Bone will span the Russian-inspired world of Ravka, where the late-blooming Grisha magician Alina Starkov battles a lightless swath full of deadly creatures that splits the country in two. Meanwhile in the city of Ketterdam, more mundane, but no less exciting developments unfold amongst the young thieves who grapple for survive in a cutthroat city.
Eight episodes of Shadow and Bone have been ordered at Netflix. The announcement comes just before more developments unfold in the Grishaverse, as the first book in Bardugo’s new duology King of Scars will be released later this month.
