The first trailer for Seth Rogen’s An American Pickle is here— watch it below!
Seth Rogen fans interested in checking out his next movie will have to sign up for an HBO Max subscription to do so.
The good news is, fans of the comedic actor can now get a taste of what they can expect when An American Pickle makes it’s grand debut on the newly minted online streaming platform.
Based on a 2013 New Yorker novella titled Sell Out, An American Pickle by Simon Rich, the forthcoming film centers on Herschel Greenbaum— a immigrant laborer living in America in the 1920s, struggling to get ahead and make a better life for himself and his family.
Things take an interesting turn when Herschel (Rogen) accidentally falls into a vat of pickles while working his factory job one day. The pickle brine preserves him and Herschel doesn’t wake up until 100 years later where he meets up with his only surviving relative: a great-grandson named Ben (also portrayed by Rogen) who works as a computer coder.
Rogen himself took to Twitter on Friday (July 3) to share the first trailer for the film with fans far and wide.
“A classic tale of a guy falling into a pickle vat, getting brined, and waking up 100 years later in modern New York,” tweeted the actor. “Here’s the trailer for An American Pickle.”
