Scarlett Johansson is heading over to Apple for her next project.
According to Deadline, actress Scarlett Johansson has signed on to serve as both producer and star of a brand new film coming down the pipeline from Apple and A24.
Titled Bride, the forthcoming film follows a woman created to be an ideal wife — the singular obsession of a brilliant entrepreneur. When she rejects her creator, she’s forced to flee her confined existence, confronting a world that sees her as a monster. While on the run, she finds her true identity, her surprising power and the strength to remake herself as her own creation.
Behind the camera, the studios have tapped Sebastian Lelio, who previously helmed the Academy Award winning film A Fantastic Woman, to serve as director on the project. In addition to directing Bride, Lelio is also co-writing the script alongside Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see Bride debut via Apple TV+.
As for Scarlett Johansson, the Academy Award nominee was meant to follow up last year’s Jojo Rabbit and Marriage Story with the highly anticipated Black Widow stand alone movie.
The Marvel movie, which finds Johansson reprising her Avengers role as Natasha Romanov, was originally meant to hit theaters earlier on this year. Unfortunately, due to ongoing movie theater shutdowns as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic, Disney and Marvel Studios have found themselves forced to push back the release date of Black Widow multiple times.
If all goes according to plan, fans will next be able to catch Scarlett Johansson on the big screen starring in Black Widow on May 7, 2021.
