Following last week’s exciting premiere which found Olitz being thrust into the public spotlight, Scandal 5×02 should be another whirlwind.
The Scandal season 5 premiere found Olivia and Fitz deciding to commit to one another again, and this time… they’re serious. No really, they are! Fitz handed Mellie the divorce papers and even encouraged Olivia to go public with their relationship.
Olivia wisely suggested they take things slow, and not announce they’re together until they work out their many problems. They barely have their act together right now, Olivia pointed out, so how will their relationship get any better when the national spotlight is on them?
Even though Fitz agreed to wait, they were unfortunately thrust into the spotlight by Sally Langston. Her television show somehow got video footage of Olivia lurking around the White House and smiling at the President, proving that Olitz were a real thing.
Now the question is: Who leaked the photos to Sally? Was it Fitz, who really wanted to go public? Was it Mellie, who’s bitter about Fitz and Olivia? Was it Cyrus, who was recently fired by Fitz for conspiring with Rowan?
Whoever it was, we hope the answer comes sooner rather than later.
Scandal 5×02’s synopsis reveals Olivia will be heading out of town for a case — and possibly to avoid the crush of media who surely want to swarm her.
“The Pope and Associates team dives into a new case that takes Olivia out of D.C. and away from the President,” says ABC. “Meanwhile, back at the White House, Fitz is determined to find who’s responsible for causing the latest turn of events, and Abby receives unexpected guidance from a master of damage control as she struggles to catch a break.”
The episode is titled “Yes.” Is it too easy to assume this “yes” is in relation to Olitz? Are they going to admit to the media that “yes,” they are together?
