‘Santa Clarita Diet’ season 3 trailer has Sheila and Joel thinking about eternity

Netflix released the new trailer for season 3 of Santa Clarita Diet, and Joel and Sheila are considering an eternity together.

Season 3 of Santa Clarita Diet is just around the corner. While Sheila (Drew Barrymore) is in danger thanks to a shadowy group that call themselves “the Knights” headed towards the Hammond household to ax Sheila, the end of last season ended when the family managed to dodge their most pressing problem: getting arrested for the murder of Gary West (Nathan Fillion).

Now that they’re in the clear in regards to Gary, it’s time for Joel and Sheila to start thinking about forever. And for Sheila, forever could quite literally mean forever. Take a look at the Santa Clarita Diet season 3 trailer for more.

While Joel (Timothy Olyphant) has been incredibly supportive to his wife’s new flesh-eating proclivities, we’ve always known that he’s never been fully comfortable with her flesh-eating desires. So when Sheila offers to bite Joel to allow them to spend eternity together, he doesn’t seem to fully jump on board.

Of course, the trailer shows us that it’s not so much an eternity with Sheila that freaks him out. Rather, he’s afraid of losing himself and becoming a monster post-bite. After all, while Sheila’s mostly the same after being resurrected, she did change quite a bit, becoming more impulsive, braver, and had it not been for the support of her family, she would have also become a lot deadlier.

Will Joel ultimately decide to take the plunge and start chowing down on bad guys beside his wife? Or will he stay mortal for himself and their daughter?
