‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ showrunner gives fans first look of Harvey, Sabrina

Production on Netflix’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch series is officially underway and now, fans can get their first sneak peek at the series’ new it-couple!

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter on Wednesday (April 4) to share a sweet photo of series stars Ross Lynch and Kiernan Shipka in full costume.

Shipka is leading the cast as Sabrina in the upcoming Riverdale spinoff. Meanwhile, we learned just a few weeks ago that Lynch (best known for Disney Channel originals like Austin and Ally and Teen Beach Movie) had signed on to play Sabrina’s boyfriend Harvey Kinkle.

“Well, it’s out there. A 1st look at Harvey and Sabrina form the “Chilling Adventures of #Sabrina,” tweeted the showrunner. “ADORBS, right?”

Adorbs is definitely the perfect word to describe the unauthorized photo Aguirre Sacasa tweeted out.

Shipka and Lynch look like they make for the perfect high school it-couple in the paparazzi snap which showcases both actors in character as they walk hand-in-hand down an expanse of wet pavement.

The photo may look incredibly wholesome, but as fans who’ve been following Sabrina the Teenage Witch news know, the upcoming Netflix series will be a far cry from the 90s family sit-com which starred Melissa Joan Hart as the titular character.

Based on the comic book series of the same name, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina puts a dark twist on the story that promises to be “a coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and of course, witchcraft.”

As we learned when we first heard news of Lynch’s casting, Sabrina’s witchcraft and her battle against dark forces will also cause a strain on her picture perfect relationship with her adorable, yet oblivious boyfriend.

We can’t be the only ones who just can’t wait for the series to premiere on Netflix!
