Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s journey as best frenemies continues with Reynolds crashing Jackman’s show to offer some birthday love.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have carried on a hilarious frenemy relationship for quite some time now. However, things took a fun and creative turn during one of Jackman’s performances in his show The Man. The Music. The Show.
In a video that was, of course, posted by Ryan Reynolds himself, Jackman makes a comment about wanting to see Ryan Reynolds try to do what he just did. However, he quickly asks the audience not to post about the comment, as he doesn’t want the millions of tweet responses from Reynolds.
However, Reynolds isn’t really one to be caught off guard, so things quickly get pretty hilarious. Take a peek at the video below!
After Jackman’s comments about Reynolds, a video of the Deadpool star pops up. He mentions that he was going to wish Jackman a happy birthday, until he heard what Jackman said about him: “Hello, Hugh. I was just, uh, I was just going to wish you happy birthday. Then I saw what you said. In a word? Hurtful. Enjoy the show, Hugh Jackman.”
Of course, this is Ryan Reynolds we’re talking about, so he doesn’t give up the spotlight so easily. He pops back in to sing happy birthday to Wolverine himself. As he adds a bit of a flourish at the end of the song, Reynolds shouts, “And I’m not even fucking professionally trained, Jackman, you piece of shit!” And he signs off by flipping Jackman off.
It would seem that the never-ending feud between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is far from over. And if we’re honest, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
With Jackman hanging up his adamantium claws as Wolverine, we probably won’t ever get that big screen Wolverine/Deadpool team-up. Thankfully, with the way these two keep trolling one another IRL, we can distract ourselves from thinking of the amazing buddy-hero movie that could have been.
Happy birthday, Hugh Jackman. We can’t wait to see how you get back at Ryan Reynolds.
