Ryan Murphy released the title of American Horror Story season 9, and this season is definitely going to be one you won’t want to miss.
American Horror Story has gone through some serious growing pains over the past seasons. While some fans have loved the recent seasons, some fans were starting to lose interest in the show. However, if you found yourself in the latter group and you thought that maybe you were done with AHS, Ryan Murphy’s latest announcement is definitely going to pull you back in.
Season 9 of American Horror Story is going to be called American Horror Story 1984. Murphy took to social media yesterday to release a teaser for the season, and to say we’re excited about it would be quite the understatement.
Judging from what we can see in the teaser, American Horror Story 1984 will be a sort of homage to those classic 80s slasher flicks we all know so well. The teaser was giving us some serious Halloween and Friday the 13th vibes, and we’re definitely ready to see more from the new season.
Choosing the year 1984 was no mistake either. As Deadline reports, that was the year Friday the 13th hit theaters and other classics like Nightmare on Elm Street and Children of the Corn hit the big screen as well.
The cast hasn’t been announced yet, but we can hope that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters (the two actors who have been in every season so far) are set to return. Additionally, there is no word if other AHS staples like Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, and Emma Roberts will return as well.
Regardless of the cast, we’re excited to see what campy, slasher fun is in store this season. AHS 1984 will premiere on FX this fall. Be sure you’re ready!
