Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans are gearing up to join forces for a brand new thriller coming down the pipeline at Netflix.
Actors Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans have both signed on to star in The Gray Man— a brand new film coming down the pipeline at Netflix.
Based on the best selling series by Mark Greaney, the story centers on Court Gentry— an ex-CIA operative who now works as a killer for hire. Described as “a deadly duel,” the adaptation is set to follow along as Court Gentry finds himself trailed by an old colleague turned nemesis, Lloyd Hansen.
In Netflix’s The Gray Man, Gosling will take on the role of Court Gentry, while Evans will assume the role of Lloyd Hansen.
The high-budget adaptation doesn’t just have some major star power in front of the camera.
In fact, the feature hails from Avengers: Endgame vets Joe and Anthony Russo. Both will serve as directors on the upcoming project. In addition, Joe Russo has written the scrip along with fellow Avengers: Endgame alums Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
In an interview with Deadline, both Russos spoke more in depth on what viewers can expect from the upcoming film.
“The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two very different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do,” said Anthony Russo of the film.
Meanwhile, Joe Russo teased the bigger picture for The Gray Man, divulging that the plan is for the film to serve as a jumping off point for a larger franchise at Netflix.
“The intention is for it to be competitive with any theatrical, and the ability to do [that] with Gosling and Evans is a dream for us. The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the center of it,” said Joe Russo. “We have all committed to the first movie, and that’s got to be great to get us to the second movie.”
Currently, there’s no word yet on when we can expect The Gray Man to debut via Netflix.
