Roseanne Barr is back on Twitter after getting Roseanne canceled, and once again she’s making everyone roll their eyes.
In defense of her racist tweet that caused ABC to cancel Roseanne on Tuesday, Barr tweeted, “It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting — it was memorial day too — I went 2 far & do not want it defended.”
The internet was quick to jump on the excuse, wondering if Ambien — a sleep aide — could really cause someone to write a racist remark.
With “Ambien” trending on Twitter, Sanofi, the makers of the drug, tweeted the following:
People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world. While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.

As the internet latched on to the Ambien tweet, Barr began denying that she was blaming the drug for her words, but it’s hard to make sense of why else she would mention it if she weren’t pushing the blame onto the drug.
no, i didnt i blamed myself. stop lying. Yes, I have had odd ambien experiences on tweeting late at night-like many other ppl do. I BLAME MYSELF OK? it's just an explanation not an excuse, Ok, bully?

She should probably stop talking.
