Though posted back in May before his passing, a video of Night At The Museum 3 co-star Robin Williams helping a kid get a date to prom has gone viral.
Skyler Gisondo, who played the son of Ben Stiller’s character in this month’s Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, asked Williams and Stiller to help him with the proposal because he was away from home and needed a unique idea.
Williams and Stiller assisted Gisondo in creating a three-minute off-the-cuff video for his potential prom date. The result includes a wonderful amount of improv, with the late Williams naturally taking the spotlight as he channels a range of characters while bouncing off of Gisondo and Williams.
“All morning, Robin was pitching more ideas,” Gisondo told THR in an interview about the video. “He was saying ‘Can I say this? Would it be appropriate to say this?’ You’re Robin Williams. You can say whatever you want!”
“Robin was this bottomless reservoir of kindness and hilarity,” the 18-year-old actor added. “It was just so special to work so closely with this guy whose movies I’ve grown up with and watch his preparedness and his kindness.”
Williams died in August at the age of 63.
