Ready Player Two author Ernest Cline has finally shared plot details for the book and it’s bound to make you even more excited for the sequel!
Author Ernest Cline has been keeping plot details with regards to the highly anticipated sequel to Ready Player One close to the chest for quite some time. The good news is, the author has finally let slip exactly what readers can expect when they get their hands on Ready Player Two next month!
The author shared the synopsis for the second book during a Friday morning panel at New York Comic Con moderated by none other than Wil Wheaton.
That Wheaton was on hand to read out the official synopsis for the sequel is especially fitting given that he’ll be serving as narrator for the audio book.
So what’s coming up next for Wade Watts? Per the book’s official synopsis, there’ll be more secrets, more clues, a new quest, and one last Easter egg left behind by Halliday himself. And if you thought the stakes were high in Ready Player One, it’s nothing compared to what’s at stake in the sequel!
Check out the official synopsis via Deadline for Ready Player Two below!
Days after winning OASIS founder James Halladay’s contest, Wade Watts makes a discovery that changes everything.
Hidden within Halladay’s vaults, waiting for his heir to find, lies a technological advancement that will once again change the world and make the OASIS a thousand times more wondrous— and addictive— than even Wade dreamed possible.
With it comes a new riddle, and a new quest— and a last Easter egg from Halliday, hinting at a mysterious prize.
And an unexpected, impossibly powerful, and dangerous new rival awaits, one who’ll kill millions to get what he wants.
Wade’s life and the future of the OASIS are again at stake, but this time the fate of humanity also hangs in the balance.
Ready Player Two debuts on November 24, 2020.
