The latest Percy Jackson story, The Blood of Olympus, doesn’t come out until October, but you can read the first chapter right now!

The first chapter of Blood of Olympus is from Jason’s point of view, and focuses on him, Piper, and Annabeth. Dressed in some magically crafted disguises, they’re about to befriend some ghosts at the ancient palace of Odysseus. Sounds like a regular day for a demigod!

The Blood of Olympus will be released on October 8 and will wrap of the Heroes of Olympus series. Did this sneak peek tie you over until then?

Meanwhile, today also marks the day Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods landed on store shelves. The book is a giant tome relating the stories of our favorite deities in Percy’s voice. It’s perfect for display, but it’s also great to use as a resource, too!

We recently talked with author Rick Riordan about the book, and he told us why he decided to take on this project, if he had a hand in the beautiful illustrations, and if we would glean any new information about Percy and his friends from this volume. Read the full interview.

And speaking of Percy, August 18 was his birthday, and we celebrated by showing you our 10 favorite quotes from the water-wielding demigod.

And even though we’ll never be able to meet Percy in person, there’s a chance you could get to shake hands with his creator, as he’s revealed the list of stops for his Blood of Olympus tour.
