We’re getting you ready for this year’s big Arrowverse crossover event, which will encompass all four shows, titled “Crisis on Earth-X.”
“Crisis on Earth-X” will air as a two-night special event, beginning on Monday, November 27. Supergirl will kick things off at 8:00 p.m., followed by Arrow at a special time at 9:00 p.m. The event will continue on Tuesday, November 28 with The Flash at 8:00 p.m. and conclude with Legends of Tomorrow at 9:00 p.m.
Synopsis
The synopsis for the four-series crossover event reads as follows:
THE EPIC FOUR-WAY CROSSOVER WITH “ARROW,” “SUPERGIRL,” “THE FLASH” AND “DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW” BEGINS — Barry (guest star Grant Gustin) and Iris’s (guest star Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (guest star Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth’s mightiest heroes — Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz) — lead their teams into battle to save the world.
‘Crisis on Earth-X’ trailer
Watch the epic trailer for the crossover below:
In this trailer, we see Barry and Iris’s wedding — attended by heroes from all four series — interrupted by Nazis. Kara, it seems, has something in common with Mick, as she says, “I hate Nazis.” After the heroes fight the invaders off, they gather in S.T.A.R. Labs where they realize the Nazis come from an alternate Earth: Earth-X.
On this Earth, some of our favorite heroes like Oliver and Kara have evil doppelgangers who rule over the dystopian world. It appears they have come to Earth-1 to conquer it. But the heroes of Earth-1 (and Earth-38) will team up with freedom fighters — like Citizen Cold — from Earth-X to fight the invasion.

Introducing The Ray
In “Crisis on Earth-X,” The CW will introduce another superhero to its stable: The Ray. Played by Russell Tovey, The Ray will be introduced in live action before transitioning into an animated series airing on CW Seed; Tovey will also voice the animated version of the hero.
Freedom Fighters: The Ray will be the second animated series within the Arrowverse, as Vixen currently has two seasons and is canon within the universe.
The synopsis for the animated series reads as follows:
Raymond “Ray” Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a “genetic light bomb.” The bomb failed to kill him and instead gifted Ray with light-based powers. With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice – he could take action to help stop it. Calling himself The Ray, he was recruited by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters to fight violence and oppression wherever it exists.
Interviews
Of the crossover, The Flash star Grant Gustin tells reporters, “It was bigger than ever. We knew it was going to be bigger than ever, too. But every year, you can’t really prepare yourself. You think you’re preparing yourself, knowing that the crossover is coming but it’s a big thing. It’s a really challenging feat. But I think this year, every year we top it. Again, we top it.”
He adds that “at least The Flash side of things, we stick with the comedy we’ve had all year. That still exists within the crossover. Barry and Kara have a few interactions that are fun, classic Barry and Kara interactions. I meet a couple new characters. It’s bigger than ever before.”
“The biggest surprise will be the emotional component of the crossover,” Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle tells THR.
“I don’t think anyone is going to see that coming. It’s very much a dark love story. It’s the underpinnings of that that will make the Earth-X element a real contrast to that. Oliver has a big role to play in it, and it’s bigger and better than any crossover we’ve done in the past. It’s going to be epic.”
“You’ll be most surprised that Legends is capable of making our audience cry,” Legends of Tomorrow EP Phil Klemmer teases.
“I thought last season really leaned into the comedy, and that season three we tripled down on that. There’s some ludicrous moments. Things get bananas, and yet in this crossover, we have this thing that happens that will honestly move you to tears.”
He adds that in the Legends episode “we cram more superheroes onto the bridge of the Waverider than is physically possible. I was responsible for writing a scene that had, like, 22 people in it, and I had to keep a list just to remind myself who was in the scene.
“I think we need a wider lens to make sure we can keep everyone in the same frame. It’s preposterous. And then you have doppelgangers, just trying to keep track of who was in the scene and what costume they’re supposed to be wearing was a real math and science.”
