Episode #26 – Robots of Sherwood

Hosted by Laura, Jen

September 9, 2014

Our show is dedicated to in-depth discussion about the Doctor Who universe: show and cast commentary, filming locations, rumors, tie-in video games/other products, spin-off series and more.

Hypable’s regular Doctor Who writer, Laura Byrne-Cristiano leads the discussion with co-host Jen Lamoureux. This podcast is the audio file from our GoogleHangout live show.

As long time listeners know it’s Robin Hood week and one of our hosts might be a tad excited about this. Actually, she’s kind of over the top about the episode and needs people to know that The Adventures of Robin Hood is her favorite movie of all time and the BBC Robin Hood broke her heart. Now that that is out of her system, let go on to the show.

    • We each have a thums up reaction to the episode. It’s definitely a good one-off that anyone can watch with no Doctor Who background and enjoy.
    • Our favorite scenes and quotes have a lot to do with Hollywood films and not just Robin Hood films
    • We loved the testosterone war and got fed up right when Clara did.
    • Is it possible the Doctor is too dark? We don’t have Colin Baker take 2 do we?
    • It’s interesting how Clara sees through he facade of hurt on many people.
    • Level of violence and cut scenes, we give our two cents.
    • There’s a whole bunch of repeated stuff a la Russell T. Davies only not quite as finessed. And then there’s the repeated stuff that’s just recycling, hell hounds anyone?
    • Crack theories as to why Missy didn’t show up this time.

As we say in the show, our listeners are the most important thing to us. Thanks to all who participated in the live show We want you hear from you. You can contribute to the next episode of the podcast by commenting on this post, emailing [email protected] or tweeting us @whohype
