Superfans: Caitlin and Karen
Newbies: Kristen and Mitch

Fun Facts:

Kristen is not-so-excited about the snow she’s expecting in Ohio, but she added to her Sven collection last night, so that’s good fun. Mitch adds that he saw Sven on the new Frozen ride at Epcot. Karen got herself some yummy Buffalo mac and cheese that was almost cheese soup. And Caitlin gives us our weekly Gage update, including the fact that he has made it outside like 10 feet or so!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 5, episode 2, “Real Me”:
-Synopsis
-First thoughts about Dawn. We were introduced to her last episode, but now we actually meet her.
-What was up with that crazy man? Does Dawn belong, or doesn’t she?
-Dawn’s presence has affected Buffy’s personality, do we like it? Or is it kinda obnoxious?
-Is Dawn a character from a different Buffy-verse? Are we now in Dawn-verse? Are we overthinking this?
-Buffy’s arch-nemesis is back! Harmony, that is.
-Harmony has minions and we all rejoice at this fact.
-Harmony and her minions enact their plan and everyone shakes in their boots… not.
-Were we ever actually worried for Dawn in those final moments?
-We get a little off track picturing Giles as Danny Tanner. Don’t ask. We got there.
-Giles finds his purpose! I can’t wait to see him as the magic shop owner.
-We all get a little worried about Giles and the Defense Against the Dark Arts position.

Angel season 2, episode 2, “Are You Now or Have You Ever Been”:
-Synopsis
-Were we surprised to see Angel in L.A. before the Angel timeline began?
-Caitlin shares some quotes about this episode from the episode’s writer, Tim Kinnear.
-We saw some changes in Angel from the 50’s to the present.
-In addition to the Angel development, we see McCarthy era L.A. and get a storyline that reflects the time period.
-This episode is weirdly appropriate to our current political climate.
-Could this possibly be the most tragic story yet?
-Judy spent 50 years being fed on and nothing else. She had lost all hope.
-The newbies weren’t too surprised to see Judy there, but it didn’t take away from the tragedy of it all.
-We collectively are excited to see Angel Investigations get a new home. Cordy will totally make it feel at home.
-The hotel is totally a parallel for Angel’s life. It has a dark past, but thanks to a cleansing has a bright future.

Listener Feedback:
-Tweets give us a few thoughts about Judgement. Some characters that will be around for a while, and appreciation for “Mandy.”
-A comment digs into the miscommunication trope problem. We definitely agree, but you don’t always learn your lesson the first time.
-Another comment digs into the predictions from “Restless” and asks if we’ll be trying to acknowledge those as they come true. We’ll certainly try.
