Episode #79 – Excel Spreadsheet

Hosted by Karen Rought, Natalie Fisher, Courtney Guy and Angela Harvey

September 3, 2014

Natalie and Karen puzzle over the Deadpool aftermath in Teen Wolf season 4, episode 11 “A Promise to the Dead,” and we join Courtney for a chat with Teen Wolf writer Angela L. Harvey.

Featured Song: “Hide” by Little May

– Natalie is back for a recap! It’s been 84 years…
– Deaton deals out vigilante justice and Karen is a fan of it.
– We were pretty surprised by the Eichen House reveal.
– “I just keep seing Hannibal where maybe I shouldn’t be…” Oh, dear.
– Hey, Doctor Fenris! We’re glad you’ve got a new job where people don’t think you’re crazy!
– Deaton luvs Talia 4eva… we called it. Is this an “actor’s choices inform the character” situation?
– Lydia’s scream – is anyone major going to die? This time last season, we knew people were gonna die.
– We really want Scott to give Derek the Bite… even though we still have a bit of trouble processing our little Scott as the most powerful Alpha.
– Scott brings back the money he was hoarding and we learn some delightful truths about Derek’s financial situation.
– Basically, he’s Hawkeye, and Natalie and Donya are SUPER excited.
– We’re still pretty confused by what is going on with Peter after last week.
– What did we think of Scott and Kira’s date… and their relationship in general?
– Going to Mexico is a cooler date than watching Star Wars, right?
off to mexico – cooler date than star wars
– That Chris/Peter/Parrish scene – ouch, in so many ways.
– Could Parrish be a fire kitsune?
– What on earth are Peter and Kate working together on? We get their individual plans, but what are they collaborating on?
– Is the supernatural wing at Eichen the “werewolf jail” Chris mentioned to Derek? Is this where Kate will end up?
– All the adults need to have a big meeting with Scott and lay their cards on the table about what info they have on the whole town!
– Stiles’s Eichen House bills are no more, hooray! We love Malia at the Stilinskis and how comfortable this family is.
– We’re not sure if we love Malia and Peter’s little plan.
– Who is the Desert Wolf? Does Peter have any actual feelings there?
– Poor tiny Liam has got some problems, or possibly PTSD.
– We think it’s a very realistic interpretation for a young person who does not want to be in this situation.
– Those berserkers are really haunting him. We weren’t even sure it was a hallucination at first.
– Brett is becoming an interesting presence – could there be more room for him on the show?
– Poor tiny Liam may have to face up to his beloved Scott as a berserker next week – how are they going to get Scott out of this one?
– Kate quotes Greek mythology, but it’s just not the same for Karen as when her treasured Matt did it.
– Natalie’s got a new Lydia ship for y’all!
– It’s gotten to the point where we might actually be disappointed if this season doesn’t end with Scott intentionally giving Derek the bite.
– Random question: who’s the girl with the sign for Liam at the lacrosse game?
– We look at some current fandom theories and meta, including a discussion of Malia’s failed test.
– In our non sequitur, we discover whether either of us has ever experienced anything that has us questioning the supernatural… and we want to hear your stories!
– Finally, we were lucky enough to speak this week with Angela L. Harvey, one of Teen Wolf’s writing team. Courtney and Karen grill Angela on Scott becoming a berserker, Derek becoming a human, and Liam’s lack of coping mechanisms. Also, time travel?
– We still don’t know the title of next week’s finale episode. Uh oh.
