‘Peaky Blinders’ ending with season 6

Prepare to bid farewell to Peaky Blinders. The hit period drama will officially be coming to a close after it’s forthcoming sixth season.

News that Peaky Blinders will conclude after season 6 comes straight from the creators. While the show might be coming to a close, it doesn’t exactly sound like we’ve seen the last of the Shelby family.

In a statement announcing the start of filming for the new season, creator Steven Knight teased fans with what they can expect from the explosive final season, while also hinting that there might still be more stories left to tell.

Peaky is back and with a bang. After the enforced production delay due to the COVID pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher,” said Knight according to Deadline.

“We believe this will be the best [season] of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.”

Peaky Blinders executive producer Caryn Mandabach doubled down on Knight’s hint that the story would in fact continue on with their own statement.

“Thank you to all the Peaky fans who have been so unwaveringly supporting and patient,” said Mandabach. “Steve’s scripts are incredible and mark the end of an epic story that has entranced audiences since it first started in 2013, but the world of Peaky Blinders will most definitely live on.”

We’re sure fans of the gangster period drama will be excited to hear about how those involved with the hit BBC One drama will chose to continue following the original series’ upcoming conclusion!
