Looks like a brand new Clueless series will soon be heading to NBC’s streaming service, Peacock!
According to Deadline, Peacock is in the process of developing a brand new television series based on the 1995 hit romcom, Clueless.
CBS TV Studios has actually been working on developing the series for about a year now. In fact, we first heard word of a proposed series in October 2019.
Back then, it was being reported that the plan was to center the series not around Cher, but her bestie, Dion. Now that the series has found a home at NBC’s Peacock, it seems as though plans to move forward with a Dion-centric series are still a go.
Specifically, the series is set to focus on what happens when Cher mysteriously disappears, and Dion becomes the de facto Queen Bee at school.
In addition to handling the pressures of reigning supreme as the most popular girl in school, it’ll also be up to Dion to try and figure out what happened to her best friend.

All in all, it seems as though the new Peacock series will offer up a bit of a darker twist to the hit Amy Heckerling film we all know and love, so it’ll be interesting to see if the streamer can pull it off.
Behind the scenes, the new Clueless television series is being written by Jordan Reddout and Will and Grace vet Gus Hickey.
Meanwhile, Jane the Virgin alum Corinne Brinkerhoff will serve as an executive producer on the project alongside partner Tiffany Grant. Robert Lawrence, who served as a producer on the original movie is also on board to produce on the new series.
