Freeform has just released a brand new look at their upcoming Party of Five reboot and it’s bound to tug at your heartstrings.
Update (11/27/19): TV viewers who can’t wait to tune in to Freeform’s upcoming take on the hit 90s family drama, Party of Five will definitely want to keep the tissues handy.
As we’ve known for quite some time, the new series will focus on the Acosta children— five siblings who suddenly find themselves without a mother and father after their parents are suddenly deported back to Mexico.
Though the new teaser for the series isn’t as action-packed as the first trailer for the show, which was released back in May, it still packs quite an emotional punch.

Original Story (5/14/19):
Get ready to bust out the tissues — the first trailer for Freeform’s Party of Five reboot is here and it’s guaranteed to make you feel all the feels.
Keeping up with reboot news can be exhausting, but the first trailer for Freeform’s new take on Party of Five proves this is one retelling worth keeping an eye on.
Fans of the original will find the basic premise of the new iteration familiar.
Like the hit Fox series which ran for six seasons from 1994 to 2000, Freeform’s Party of Five reboot centers on a group of siblings who suddenly find themselves without parents.
This time around, though, the series redefines what it means to be orphaned.
Unlike the Salinger siblings, the Acostas lose their mother and father not in a car crash, but because of their status as undocumented immigrants living in America.
After their parents get deported, the kids must figure out how to take care of themselves or run the risk of getting split up if they’re put into the foster care system.

The trailer doesn’t shy away from showcasing the harsh realities of how deportation can split families apart. From arrests and court cases, to daily struggles, it seems like viewers are in for quite a journey when the series eventually makes its way to air.
Spearheaded by original Party of Five creators Amy Lippman and Christopher Keyser, the upcoming Freeform reboot stars Niko Guardado (Beto), Brandon Larracuente (Emilio), Elle Paris Legaspi (Valentina), and Emily Tosta (Lucia).
There’s currently no word on when we can expect the series to premiere, but it’s expected to premiere via Freeform sometimes in 2019.
