The book to film adaptation of John Green’s Paper Towns has moved its opening date for a second time.

First scheduled for July 31, 2015, and then June 5, 2015, Paper Towns will now open in theaters July 24, 2015. Hypable confirmed the shift with Fox.

This means the film will be opening up against the Hugh Jackman-led Pan and Chris Columbus’ Pixels.

In its June date, the film would’ve been going up against Insidious: Chapter 3 and the Entourage movie, with Jurassic World opening up a week later and Pixar’s Inside Out two weeks later.

The exact reason for the move is unclear. It looks like Fox is trying to find the sweet spot for its theatrical release.

We’ve yet to see any trailers or stills from Paper Towns, but Green recently caught a screening of the film and was very happy with it:

Hypable visited the set of Paper Towns last year and will be sharing our interviews and experiences closer to the film’s June July release. The film stars Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne.

Meanwhile, last week we learned that the book to film adaptation of Looking For Alaska will be written and produced by the same people who brought you The Fault in Our Stars and this June July’s Paper Towns. A date for the film hasn’t been set.
