Onward just released its second trailer, and we get an even closer look into this exciting, heartfelt adventure to reunite a family.
We’ve only seen the second trailer for Pixar’s upcoming film, Onward, and already it’s pretty obvious that while this movie is going to be a ton of fun, it will definitely make every one of us ugly cry. In the second trailer, we get a closer look at the adventure the main characters, two elf brothers (voiced by Chris Pratt and Tom Holland) on an adventure to bring their late father back.
From the looks of the trailer, Onward is going to be an amazing journey, one with plenty of laughs, lots of heart, and loads of magic. Check it out for yourself below.
Onward is set in a “suburban fantasy world,” as the official synopsis explains, and follows two elf brothers on a quest to rediscover what magic is left in their world. When a spell to bring back their deceased father for 24 hours goes wrong and only his lower half appears, the brothers set out to find the magic they need to bring all of him back.
The plot sounds adorable, and we’re fascinated by the idea behind the movie, centering a magical story in a fantasy universe that has, by and large, moved away from magic and become pretty mundane (despite being fully populated with magical creatures).
Pixar has, unsurprisingly, gathered a ton of amazing folks to bring this story to life. In addition to Pratt and Holland, Onward also features the voices of talented actors like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Octavia Spencer, Ali Wong, Lena Waithe, and Mel Rodriguez.
Undoubtedly, this movie is going to be par for the course for a Pixar movie: it’s going to be an amazing, fun, out-of-this-world adventure, but it’s going to be so incredibly heartfelt that none of us will leave the movie theater without crying. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long for this one to hit movie theaters, as Onward opens on March 6, 2020.
