In today’s not-so-shocking-but-nice-to-know news, Once Upon a Time officially confirmed that Hades will make his debut in season 5B.
“Distinguished Gentleman” just does not have the same ring to it as Hades. Even though Hypable has not been shy about jumping the gun when it comes to talking about the master of the Underworld, EW confirms what we always knew to be true in our hearts — newcomer Greg Germann will be billed as Hades in the Once Upon a Time credits.
Even with this news cleared up, three major questions remain:
- Will Hades have awesome CGI blue hair?
- Can Greg Germann deliver Hades’ signature wit?
- Where are Pain and Panic?
More so than any other person Once Upon a Time has introduced over the years, Hades is a monster of a character to bring to life. He is charming, vindictive, and at the same time, the type of villain you’d want to have over to provide running commentary for a movie or two.
Germann’s Hades will debut in the spring premiere, which also happens to be episode 100 of Once Upon a Time.
The special episode is already packed with characters returning from beyond the grave to reveal the secrets of the Underworld. Regina, Mary Margaret, Henry, David, Gold, and Emma are on a mission to retrieve Hook’s soul from Hades’ possession. Their first encounters in the Underworld will not be with the big man himself, but Cora, Pan, the Blind Witch, and Cruella, to name a few.
In addition to Hades, Hercules and Megara are also heading the Once Upon a Time in the second episode of the spring titled, “Labor of Love.”
Once again we would like to send our rough rendition of Greg Germann to ABC’s creative post-production department for inspiration.
