Once Upon a Time fans hoping to see August, aka Pinocchio, in the second half of season 2 might be curious to see what the showrunners have to say about his return!
Speaking to TV Line, Ed Kitsis says that the character might be back this year, although nothing is certain yet. “We are hoping to have him back,” he says. “August is an important part of the fabric of the story, and it’s a story that we are continuing to tell.”
While we might not get to see Eoin Bailey again in the second season however, the showrunner confirms that, “you will get the answer” to what August showed Neal Cassidy (Michael Raymond-James) which made him believe in the fairytale world. Neal is set to return this year, at least, so we’ll likely be getting the answer from the man himself.
What do you think August showed Neal? And what would make his character return to Storybrooke again, after what happened the last time?
Once Upon a Time returns Sunday with an all-new episode, entitled “The Cricket Game.” Emma and Snow’s happy homecoming will be dampened by the arrival of Cora and Captain Hook, and we’ll see how the town residents are affected by the murder of a beloved fairytale character – we’re very worried about the identity of this person!
In the same interview, Kitsis also confirms that Sheriff Graham (Jamie Dornan), another beloved and missed Once Upon a Time character, will not be coming back to life – although we may see him in flashbacks. “If we brought him back, everyone would say we were messing with continuity,” he says. “We don’t want to do that.”
