Black Adam has found its Hawkman in actor Aldis Hodge.
Update (9/25/2020): According to Variety, The Invisible Man alum, Aldis Hodge, is the latest actor to join the cast of New Line’s upcoming Black Adam movie.
The film is set to focus on the titular character, who also happens to be a long-time nemesis of Shazam. Originally a corrupted Egyptian prince (and also a predecessor to Captain Marvel), Black Adam eventually becomes an anti-hero who sets out to clear his name and restore his reputation.
Hodge is set to take on the role of Hawkman in the forthcoming anti-hero flick— a somewhat mysterious character with a wide variety of backstories, who first made his appearance in the DC Comic in 1940 as part of Flash Comics #1.
The superhero is known for his large, artificial wings made out of a special Nth metal, which gives him the ability to take flight.
Hodge joins Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in starring in the forthcoming DCEU film, with Johnson set to play the titular Black Adam.
Also on board to co-star in the Jaume Collet-Serra helmed movie is To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo.

Original Story (7/16/2020):
Netflix darling Noah Centineo is heading to the DCEU.
According to Deadline, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo has officially joined the cast of New Line and DC’s upcoming Black Adam movie.
The anti-hero flick, which has been in the works for quite some time now, finds Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starring as the titular character.
The film is set to focus on the titular character, who also happens to be a long-time nemesis of Shazam. Originally a corrupted Egyptian prince (and also a predecessor to Captain Marvel), Black Adam eventually becomes an anti-hero who sets out to clear his name and restore his reputation.
As for Centineo, he’s set to take on the role of Atom Smasher in the forthcoming action flick. DC fans will likely be familiar with Atom Smasher, who can control his molecular structure, which gives him the power to manipulate his size, his strength, and his durability.
Production on Black Adam has been picking up speed over the course of the past year or so— which is great news for fans who’ve been itching to see the anti-hero make his way onto the big screen.
Last June, we learned that the film had finally found its director in horror movie helmer Jaume Collet-Serra (House of Wax, Orphan). Collet-Serra also served as director on Disney’s upcoming Jungle Cruise, which also happens to star Johnson.
Collet-Serra will be directing off of a screenplay written by Adam Sztykiel, who is also no stranger to working with Johnson. (The screenwriter previously penned the script for the 2018 action flick, Rampage).
Black Adam is slated to hit theaters on December 22, 2021.
