Atypical‘s second season will be 10 episodes long, bumping up the episode count from the eight-episode first season.
The dramedy follows 18-year-old Sam Gardner, a high school student who is on the autism spectrum. In the first season he announces to his father that he wants to start dating, and over the course of the season, we explore the interconnected lives of Sam and his family, and how their respective actions and choices affect each other.
Since the first season left a lot of plot points unsolved and raised new questions about these characters’ futures, we’re glad to see the show return, to find out what happens with Sam and his family.
Atypical stars Keir Gilchrist, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Amy Okuda and Michael Rapaport. The series is written and created by How I Met Your Mother‘s Robia Rashid.
