The first trailer for Ratched is here, and Sarah Paulson’s portrayal of the iconic titular character will surely leave you feeling unsettled!
Sarah Paulson and Ryan Murphy are teaming up together again— this time, to bring fans the horrifying origin story of one of the most iconic characters to ever grace the silver screen.
Hailing from Murphy and Ian Brennan, Netflix’s Ratched serves as One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest origin story. The series aims to give viewers a glimpse into how Mildred (Paulson) came to be the iconic tyrannical Nurse Ratched we were first introduced to in Ken Kesey’s novel (later adapted into the hit 1975 film starring Jack Nicholson).
Created by Evan Romansky, the series is set in 1947 and follows Mildred as she arrives in Northern California with plans to land a job at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments on the human mind are just beginning to get off the ground.
