A new Dan Brown adaptation will soon be making its way to the small screen.
According to Deadline, NBC has given a production commitment to a new drama based off one of Dan Brown’s best selling novels.
Titled Langdon, the forthcoming series is based off of Dan Brown ’s The Lost Symbol.
First published in 2009, The Lost Symbol is the third book in Brown’s series which follows the adventures of notable Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon. The book takes place after the events of the author’s best selling 2003 novel, The Da Vinci Code.
Other books by Dan Brown which feature Robert Langdon at the forefront include Angels & Demons (2000), Inferno (2013), and Origin (2016).
NBC’s Langdon will be written and executive produced by Constantine alum Daniel Cerone.

The series will find the Harvard symbologist putting his mind to work on a series of deadly puzzles after his mentor is kidnapped. After joining up with the CIA, Langdon finds himself uncovering a “chilling conspiracy.”
Dan Brown himself will serve as an executive producer on the forthcoming series alongside Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, Samie Falvey, Annal Culp, and Ron Howard.
Howard’s involvement in the project might be of particular importance to those who’ve enjoyed seeing Robert Langdon’s adventures come to life on the big screen.
The director has helmed three films based off of Brown’s books including adaptations of The Da Vinci Code (May 2006), Angels & Demons (May 2009), and Inferno (October 2016).
All of Howard’s big screen adaptations starred Academy Award winner Tom Hanks as the famed Harvard symbologist.
There’s currently no word on when we can expect Langdon to premiere on NBC.
