Netflix has ordered a reality series from the Mythbusters team titled The White Rabbit Project.
Deadline reports that the producers behind the dearly departed Mythbusters series are reuniting for a new Netflix series.
The title is White Rabbit Project, and it is classified as an unscripted original series.
It’ll star Mythbusters alums Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara (who all left the series a year before its cancellation), and will be produced by Beyond Productions, the team behind Mythbusters.
We want to thank @KariByron @GrantImahara @ToryBelleci for their tireless work, and wish them all the best.https://t.co/pmMSqiRAH1

As described by Deadline, White Rabbit Project sounds a lot like Mythbusters:
“In the Netflix series, the three head down the rabbit hole to investigate weird and wonderful events from pop culture, science and history. Under their microscope are topics as diverse as jailbreaks, superpower technology, heists and crazy world war two weapons. In each episode the hosts immerse themselves in experiments, builds and tests as they sleuth the truth behind these and other well googled themes. Beyond Productions’ John Luscombe, Ryan Senter and Martyn Ives will serve as executive producers.”
This is great news for all of us who sorely miss Mythbusters, which wrapped up earlier this year. This new series sounds very much in the spirit of the show we love, but with a particular focus on entertainment and pop culture.
Considering that Netflix also recently announced a talkshow headlined by Bill Nye the Science Guy, and that they’ll be coming out with new episodes of Charlie Brooker’s technology-critical anthology series Black Mirror, Netflix seems to be moving into a more science-entertainment direction. And we couldn’t be happier!
White Rabbit Project will debut globally on December 9.
