The first The Muppets Most Wanted poster has been released and depicts your favorite puppets alongside their human co-stars.
Ricky Gervais, Ty Burell, and Tina Fey feature in this first poster with their muppet co-stars Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and others including an evil version of Kermit named Constantine. A globe behind the cast hints at the fact that The Muppets will be traveling the world as they carry out a tour. Check it out:
The Muppets Most Wanted poster is as colorful as the promotional material for the last film released in 2011. Today’s release may be a sign that a new trailer is on the horizon..
The sequel “takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Gervais. Fey is featured as Nadya, a feisty prison guard.”
2011’s The Muppets starred human celebrities Amy Adams and Jason Segel (the latter got the project off the ground to begin with thanks to his passion for the long-running franchise). Neither star will be a part of the sequel, but we’re looking forward to new characters from Gervais, Fey, and Burrell.
The Muppets Most Wanted arrives in theaters March 21, 2014. Thanks, EW.
