MTV has announced the premiere date for its anticipated new thriller Eye Candy.
Shortly after ordering a full 10 episode run, the MTV adaptation announced that Eye Candy will debut January 12 at 10 p.m. eastern.
The show is set in New York and revolves around a young girl named Lindy Sampson, played by Victoria Justice.
The premise for the show is as follows: “Lindy, a tech genius who is convinced by her roommate to begin online dating, starts to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors may be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the elusive cyber police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, all signs point to one of Lindy’s dates. Teaming with a band of hackers, Lindy works to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York.”
MTV has been likening the project as their own version of CSI.
As stated above Victoria Justice will be leading the newly developed mystery crime drama. And it’s likely those over at MTV are crossing their fingers hoping that Justice’s former Zoey 101 and Victorious audiences are old enough to appreciate this newer type of programing.
Of course Justice doesn’t act alone. Along with her comes Harvey Guillen (The Internship), Kiersey Clemons (Transparent), Casey Jon Deidrick (As the World Turns), and John Garet Stoker.
The Goosebumps adaptation is being headed up by Emmy Grinwis along with former Teen Wolf writer Christian Taylor., contributing directly to the new wave of drama that MTV has been slowly unrolling.
