Henry Cavil has lined up his next big screen role and it’ll find the Man of Steel star playing one of literature’s most famous detectives.
Update (6/27/19): According to Variety, actor Henry Cavill has officially signed on to star opposite Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in Enola Holmes.
The upcoming adaptation is based on author Nancy Springer’s popular book series, The Enola Holmes Mysteries.
In Springer’s series, it’s not Sherlock and Watson who are on the case, but instead Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’ younger sister, Enola.
Cavill will play Sherlock Holmes himself in the upcoming adaptation, while Brown will be taking on the role of Enola.
The Batman vs. Superman star isn’t the only big name to recently join the cast of Enola Holmes.
In addition, it’s also been announced that Harry Potter alum Helena Bonham Carter has also signed on to join the cast as Enola’s mother.
There’s currently no word on when we can expect Enola Holmes to hit the big screen, but fans of Henry Cavill won’t have to wait long to see the actor back in action.
Coming up next, Cavill will star in the upcoming adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher saga, coming soon to Netflix.
Original Story (1/10/18): Millie Bobby Brown has her next movie project lined up, and it’ll find the young Stranger Things star pulling double duty!
According to Digital Spy, actress Millie Bobby Brown is gearing up to get her first producing credit on a brand new movie franchise based on Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries book series.
Brown is set to serve as producer on the upcoming book-to-film adaptation, which will be helmed by the young star’s own company, PCMA Productions.
In addition to taking on a bigger role behind the camera, Brown will also be starring in the first movie, The Case of the Missing Marquess, where she’ll play the titular character.
Springer’s novels follow the adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ teenage sister, Enola Holmes, as she attempts to break free of the legacy of her famous older brother.
The new project will also find Brown continuing her partnership with Legendary Entertainment.
The 13-year-old actress most recently worked with the studio in partnership with Warner Bros. on Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla sequel.
If the The Case of the Missing Marquess does well, it’s possible Brown could be locked in to portray Enola Holmes for quite some time.
Author Nancy Springer released Marquess back in 2006. Since then, she’s written a total of six novels revolving around Enola’s adventures solving mysteries and cracking cases just like Sherlock and Watson did in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original mysteries.
There’s currently no word yet on when Legendary and Brown plan to start production on the film, or when we might expect to see it hit theaters.
